From New York to Los Angeles, Rena Strober has built a diverse career spanning Broadway, television, film, voice-over, music and advocacy.
On Broadway, Rena appeared as Cosette in Les Misérables and as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. She starred Off-Broadway opposite Betty Buckley, Peter Scolari, and Tuc Watkins in the comedy White’s Lies, and toured nationally with Fiddler on the Roof as Tzeitel, performing opposite Topol, Harvey Fierstein, and Theo Bikel.
Rena originated the role of Tonya in the pre-Broadway production of Zhivago, directed by Des McAnuff, at La Jolla Playhouse, earning an Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance. Her acclaimed one-woman show, Spaghetti & Matzo Balls!, played to sold-out houses Off-Broadway in New York, Los Angeles, and in Leeds, England. The show was also adapted into the award-winning short film Spaghetti & Matzo Balls!.
Television audiences know Rena as Becky Bickelhoff on Disney’s Liv and Maddie, Chuckie’s lawyer Emily Knowland on Shameless, Jonah’s successful date on Veep, and through numerous memorable roles on Nickelodeon.
As a voice-over artist, Rena has voiced hundreds of characters for Disney XD, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Nintendo, Sega, and numerous anime games and animated series. Fan favorites include Ever After High, Penn Zero, Dogs in Space, Sailor Moon, and the Fire Emblem series, in which she voices Azura.
In Los Angeles, Rena appeared in Stoneface: The Rise and Fall of Buster Keaton at the Pasadena Playhouse, portraying Norma Talmadge and Eleanor Keaton alongside French Stewart. She also worked with Jason Alexander in the Los Angeles premiere of When You’re in Love, the Whole World is Jewish.
Rena is also an award-winning recording artist. Her Sesame Street album, Imagine That: The Music of Joe Raposo & Jeff Moss, features Jason Alexander, French Stewart, and the Dotz Blind Children’s Choir and has received multiple awards. Proceeds benefit Guide Dogs of America.

Some of Rena’s most memorable performances have taken her far beyond the theater. She has sung “God Bless America” at home plate at Shea Stadium, performed the National Anthem at the legendary Friars Club Roasts, and sung the National Anthem for NASA during rocket launches.
When she is not performing, Rena teaches voice to young singers, with a special focus on singers who are blind. She also serves as a Cantorial Soloist and Chaplain for multiple Jewish congregations throughout Los Angeles.
Rena currently lives and works in Los Angeles, where she continues to perform, teach, record, and create.
